Seonamseowon Confician Academy in beautiful nature environment

Seonamseowon Confician Academy is located in Geumcheon-myeon, Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, little bit distant from other villages around. The less human visits, the better is the beauty of nature preserved. Dongchangcheon Stream is flowing near the house; no painting can reproduce its beautiful silky stream. It is very natural that any people who visit here are attracted by the view and stay for a while refreshing themselves. The number of visitors has grown good enough to run a cafe for them now. When you open the gate, you can see Anchae(main house), Haengrangchae(side building) and Sarangchae(guesthouse) arranged in the shape of "ㄷ". Also, there is an Heotdam(small wall) that separates Anchae, men’s living space, and Sarangchae, women’s living space. It is told that it has functionality as a Feng Shui symbolism in addition to the beauty of architecture. Particularly the Sarangchae has a fantastic view suitable for its name Deukwoljeong, meaning “grasp the moon”.
